Question
Will there be any training in the weeks ahead of departure to Montreal?

Answer
Yes, Water Polo West has just secured pool time at the City Centre Aquatic Complex for the following dates:

​

• May 27th

• May 28th

• May 29th

• June 1st

• June 2nd

​

We are currently searching for additional pool time during June.

​

If we depart Vancouver on July 1st, we will also have practice time at the pool in Montreal on July 2nd.

Question

Who will be coaching the teams/When will they be appointed?

 

Answer
Once we have confirmed we have sufficient registrations to operate each team, we will finalize who will coach the team (hopefully by May 15th).

Question

Will there be any additional costs in addition to the $1700 registration fee and paying for our own flights?

​

Answer

No additional costs are expected/anticipated. However, travel issues and any force majeure/extreme events could result in additional costs (e.g major flight delays, extreme weather conditions etc).

Where will the athletes stay and where is the competition venue?

 

Answer
All staff and athletes will be staying at Campus1 MTL https://www.campus1mtl.ca 

The residence is located a 4-minute walk from Place-des-Arts metro station, and a ~30-minute metro ride to Parc Jean Drapeau. All games and training are taking place at Parc Jean Drapeau.

What clothing/apparel is provided?

A t-shirt and swim suit will be provided to all athletes

Will the trip be chaperoned?

Answer

Each team will have a dedicated Team Manager and a request will be made for any parents in attendance to assist with additional chaperone support. We have also recruited Mary Blazevic (from Storm) to be the "Manager of Team Managers". Mary will assist with team logistics and be in attendance at Nationals.
