Coaches' Workshop

Water Polo West held a Coaches' Day at the 2025 Summit in Burnaby on the September 6-7 weekend. New coaches learned about the updated Water Polo Canada pathway to certification and the updated Water Polo Canada Concussion Protocol with WPC Education and Events Manager Corey Conroy.

Following up on Corey's presentations, NDC Coach Kristin Smart walked new coaches through the set up of their National Coaching Certification Program accounts with the Coaching Association of Canada. They all went on to complete one eLearning course as part of their pathway.

The final session of the day was led by BC Head Coach Branko Pekovic. Branko went through some principles important for coaching 14U athletes. He tossed in Pro Tips throughout his talk and included some helpful video demonstrations.

It was great to see so many young coaches from a variety of clubs!
