Reuel D'Souza is a finalist for the Sport BC Senior Male Athlete of the Year. D'Souza's outstanding performance at the 2025 World Aquatic Championships earned him the nomination. The Canadian forward was top scorer in the men's tournament in Singapore in July.
Other finalists in the category are Evan Dunfee, the race walker from Richmond, BC who won gold at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in the 35km event, and Jackson Goldstone from Squamish, BC who won 2025 World Downhill Mountain Bike Championship.
"It truly is an honour to be a finalist for this award alongside two incredible athletes," said D'Souza from Europe, where he is currently competing.
Sport BC's 58th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards will take place on March 5, 2026. Winners will be chosen by a committee of highly regarded BC sportswriters, broadcasters, and amateur sport leaders. The Sport BC Athlete of the Year awards is the longest standing sport recognition event in Canada.
Congratulations to Reuel for being chosen as a finalist!
