Four teams will be representing BC in this summer's Canadian Championships. This year, the tournament, formerly known as NPC, will be split into two cities. The 15U tournament will be run in Montreal from June 28 - July 1, while the 17U and 19U events will be held in Regina July 7-12.
"We're incredibly excited for Canadian Championships," said Hayley McKelvey who will be Lead Coach for the 15U and 17U Girls. "With many of our athletes returning from last year's success, we're looking forward to building on that momentum and continuing our growth while competing at a high level." Last year Team BC 15U Girls won gold and the 15U Boys took home the silver.
BC Head Coach, Branko Pekovic is pleased at how Team BC is moving forward with a better structure this year. With multiple practices for each team through May and June, there is opportunity to get some solid work done together before departures.
Branko and Hayley will be joined by Alexis Vozza who has been coaching regularly at the National Development Centre. The fourth coach will be confirmed shortly.
Congratulations to all Team BC Athletes and Good Luck at Canadian Championships!
