Water Polo West is pleased to announce the launch of a Regional Development centre in partnership with Water Polo Canada.


ABOUT THE RDC The Regional Development Centre (RDC) is a partnership between Water Polo West and Water Polo Canada. (Click here for an overview of Canada's RDC program)

The RDC has been formed to support the development, evaluation and selection of athletes for:

  • Age Group National Teams

  • Provincial Teams

  • Regional Teams

The RDC also acts as a coach, official and player education program:

  • Athlete Development

  • University Transition Program (Scholarships to Post Secondary)

  • Mental Health & Wellbeing

  • Mental Performance (i.e. Sports Psychology)

  • Coach Development & Mentorship

  • Professional Development​

  • Advanced Coach Development

  • Officials Development & Mentorship

  • Club Development (LTAD, etc)

The RDC also sets standards for the player pathway:

  • LTAD implementation

  • Club operating standards

  • Evaluation criteria

  • Athlete carding criteria
